Outside of Pearl Jam, are there any classic 90s grunge bands who HAVEN'T had a member die?
I'm a freelance journalist based in Montreal, Canada. It's likely I'm the only person in the world who has interviewed Steven Adler from Gun N'Roses, former Canadian Justice Minister Irwin Cotler and Tucker Max.
My career started at The Link, the independent student newspaper at Concordia University and one of the most award-winning student papers in Canada. There, I edited long-form features and news over two years and cut my teeth covering the Printemps Érable in 2012.
After graduating with a B.A. in Journalism in 2013, I interned at The Montreal Gazette, where I covered the tragic train derailment and explosion in Lac-Mégantic that claimed 47 lives.
A year-long stint producing CTV News Channel anchor Todd Van Der Heyden's weekly radio show Viewpoints was followed by a contract at the QMI News Agency wire service. While at QMI, I was assigned to cover the Luka Magnotta trial, including the verdict and aftermath, and various pre-trial hearings for Richard Henry Bain, who killed a stage-hand while attempting to attack Quebec Premier Pauline Marois at her election night party in 2012.
Following the acquisition of Sun Media's English-language newspaper division by Postmedia, QMI was shut down and I found myself recruited into television.
I currently work as a researcher and web reporter at CTV Montreal and freelance for publications like RollingStone.com, Esquire, CNN, The AV Club, Deadspin, Gawker, USA Today, Cosmo, The Gazette, The Toronto Star, Maisonneuve, VICE, AskMen and Canadian Musician.
I'm interested in the weird tales, the untold stories and the voices that aren't heard.
